Some of my classmates and I in Tofino, BC

2015 was by far probably the best year of my life. I was living in Victoria, BC, studying communications with some of the most amazing people I have ever met and working part-time in a coffee shop. Living by the ocean, having time to go running every day, and hiking at least once a week while in school and working was definitely where I felt like the happiest, best version of myself.

In 2015, I:

  • Went skinny dipping
  • Went camping – a few times
  • Had numerous mental breakdowns (new for me)
  • Wanted to drop out many times
  • Cancelled plans, including my class’ end-of-the-year party, to stay home at watch Netflix (also new for me)
  • Worked part-time at a coffee shop
  • Made 10,000 pumpkin spiced lattes (not an exact number)
  • Wrote enough papers to have my own book, or ten
  • Tried (and embarrassingly botched) a public speaking class
  • Lost my car because it broke down and I was too broke to keep up with it
  • Fell in love with hiking
  • Fell in love with bike riding (mostly because of losing my car)
  • Fell in love with poetry writing
  • Met two long-lost cousins of mine
  • Made new lifelong friends
  • Went to my first music festival (Sunfest – a country music festival on the island)
  • Fell in love with the island all together
  • But also realized how much I love Alberta

I hope I have a list this great for 2016!
